The performance was somewhat improved however, a few shows later "we" noticed the subs were starting to sound a little funky. A few years ago I jazzed up the amp rack and stepped up to a 400 watt stereo 8 ohm amp. I ran these 918 cabinets for years (decade +) with a 200 watt stereo 8 ohm amp. I had/have a pair of ancient Sunn 918 cabinets which I believe had the same CV drivers in them that you have.
